What a day!

There are days when my patience is tested. Jemma did not want to take a nap... not surprising. So, she peed in her bed. She had been potty not more than 10 minutes before she went to bed and she had just gotten up to get a tissue 5 minutes before she came dancing into my room saying "I peed in my bed... can you change my sheets?" This was not the first time and I'm just not sure what to do. She is smart enough to understand that the potty is where you go. She refuses to wear a pull-up or diaper and if I put it on, then she just takes it off. This was no accident. An accident would not upset me... peeing in her bed with no reason except she doesn't want to take a nap just irritates me greatly. I made her lay down and rest on her nap mat. Even if she doesn't nap, she still needs some quiet/down time.

Jemma had 3 time outs for not being nice to her brother this afternoon. She pushed him and made him fall, she stepped on his fingers and she was shoving him and trying to get him away from his toy. I hate it when she doesn't nap!

Jemma wanted to paint this afternoon. She loves her art easel and I'm thrilled that she wants to use it! Unfortunately, she did not keep the paint totally on the paper. It is water soluble paint, so the clean up was easy.

James would not nap this afternoon. He is so curious about Jemma and what she is doing that sometimes it is impossible to get him to sleep! Therefore, about 4:15 he became almost unbearably clingy and whiny.

So, getting dinner ready for the kids was interesting. I had both kids whining and under my feet. I finally put James in the high chair and Jemma at the table with cheerios. I don't like giving James cheerios before I feed him, but tonight it was absolutely necessary.

After Jemma ate dinner, I put in the Wiggles video so I could James ready for bed. She announced, "Mom, I peed on the couch." Cleaning the bed is actually easier than cleaning the couch! I love her age for so many reasons... the cuddles and snuggles... the "I love you" and other acts of love... the questions and inquisitive nature...

James ate a huge dinner and I had him in bed by 7! Jemma didn't eat very much at dinner time... I found this when I came downstairs from nursing James:

She was enjoying her peanut butter straight from the jar! Now she is in bed... hopefully until the morning!! :)

Oh my! I wish I had advice I could give, but all I can say is that I'm sorry you had such a rough day. Hopefully today will be wonderful, with no trouble.
