Scout update

If you haven't had a chance to look at Merin's update, then here is the latest.

Scout came home Sunday... yippie!! Then she was admitted to CHKD on Tuesday morning. She was/is having seizures and had a high fever. Last night it was 104. Today it was back to normal. Merin thinks she may have hypothalmus issues since her temperature keeps going high and there is no real reason for it.

They are going to have her medically transported to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) once they can get a bed and assigned a doctor. Everything on the CHKD and Tricare end seem to be taken care of, but they are waiting on CHOP. The waiting is quite frustrating! Merin says that CHOP has a bed where they can monitor her by EEG 24/7, where at CHKD it is a "procedure." There is also a neurologist there that they had an outpatient appt with on Monday already... he is supposed to be one of the best and Merin wants to see him ASAP! Merin also says that CHOP has a speciality with epilepsy, so she is hoping that they have some insight and can offer some relief to the seizures that Scout has been having. (The seizures have been causing Scout's oxygen level to drop into the 30% range, which is not good.)

They can certainly use prayers and positive thoughts...
