Merin dropped Mya off at 7:30 this morning. I had showered and gotten ready for the day and James was already up and had nursed, but Jemma was still sleeping. So, I had Mya wake her. It was so funny to listen to Mya saying, "Jemma, it is time to wake up... Jemma, wake up.... Jemma, don't you want breakfast?" As James ran laughing into Jemma's room, I followed behind him. (He is so cute when he runs with that happy little laugh!) Jemma looked at me and said, "My ear hurts." She had said that same thing as I put her to bed the night before. So, I took her to the dr today. She has an ear infection and the dr seems to think that the one from 12 days ago may not have cleared with the first round of antibiotics, so we started a new one today.
The Dr story:
Jemma's normal doctor is Dr. Springer. Dr. Springer was not working today. So, when I told Jemma that we were going to see another doctor because Dr. Springer was not working, she told me that her ear was not hurting anymore. Of course, I knew better. Jemma just didn't want to see anybody but Dr. Springer. As we were driving to the dr's office, Jemma says, "Mommy, just call Dr. Springer. Call her and she will see me. Call her, right now." I explained that Dr. Springer was not working today and that the other doctor was really nice and would take good care of her. She then suggested that I "cancel" the appointment. Since when does my 3 year old tell me to cancel something?!? I thought that would start in another 10+ years! When we got into the dr's waiting room, Jemma says, "This is Dr. Springer's office. I'm glad we are going to see Dr. Springer." Again, I explained that Dr. Springer was not working and that we were going to see another doctor and that this was a practice with several doctors working in the same place. When the nurse took us back to the exam room, Jemma said, "Can we see Dr. Springer?" The nurse told Jemma no that Dr. Springer was not working today. Thankfully, the other Doctor was wonderful and quick! Jemma was a great patient... I am hoping that Dr. Springer is available the next time that we need to visit, though...
James' cute/funny story:
We were getting ready to go to the dr's office and I told Jemma to get her shoes on and go to the car. She didn't budge from her spot on the floor, so I said in a voice as loud as I could (slightly above a whisper), "Get your shoes on, now!" James looks at Jemma, waves his index finger in the air and says, "Now, now, now..." followed by "Go, go, go..." I just had to laugh!

Today's weather was perfect. The kids (Jemma, James and Mya) played outside after dinner for almost 2 hours... I should have taken out the camera because it was so cute, but I just enjoyed watching them play and interact. Merin brought Scout out for a while to enjoy the fresh air, too. Then, our neighbor, Kara joined us. It was so nice to hang out with friends/neighbors and watch the kids play. I love where we live!
