We had a fantastic 4th of July!
We watched our neighborhood parade in our backyard and chatted with a bunch of our neighbors and friends. Here are Jemma and Mya waiting for the parade to start:
The neighbors from across the street shared tomatoes and cucumbers from their garden... yummy! Jim took Jemma to the park for the party after the parade while I stayed at home with James, who was napping.
Then we went to a cookout at the Hill's house. Jemma and James had a blast! They had a bouncy house, a kiddie pool and a slip and slide. Plus there were tons of kids for them to play with.
We left that cookout and went to another at Toad (real name is Jim) and Carol's house. Toad was in Jim's squadron and now they are on the same ship. Carol has a little boy, James that is Jemma's age. They go to school together and Jemma refers to him as "My Red-haired James." Here they are on the swings.

James loved sliding!
Jemma "playing" guitar:We had planned to stay for the fireworks, but both of our kids were needing sleep, so we packed up and left about 8:30. We stopped by Dam Neck to watch some fireworks before heading home. Jemma was so excited to see fireworks all day, but after about 10 minutes she was done. And James fell asleep in the hip hammock... in fact, he slept through the transition into the car and kept sleeping from the car to his bed. He was exhausted! So, we beat the post fireworks traffic and had them both in bed asleep before 10!
We hope your 4th was wonderful!!!!! :)
