I was so tired Wednesday afternoon that I crashed on the couch while James napped. Jemma, although extremely tired, would not give into sleep. She was good enough to let me rest, though. I heard her little pitter pat of feet as she came down the stairs, I felt her looking at me as my eyes were closed on the couch, I heard her open the closet and rummage through, then go back to her room. I found a box of raisins under her bed later, which is against the rules in our house. (No food or drink upstairs... the only exception is illness!) Wednesday night, Jemma finally slept all night long. I gave her medicine then put her to bed at 7 and she was asleep by 7:05! She still has her cough but she seems to be feeling well otherwise.
James did not sleep well Wednesday night. Jim finally got home at 3:45 am... I hate it when he flies and works so late. Then James was up at 4... I wanted sleep and knew that Jim needed sleep. I rocked James, I nursed James and it still took me almost 2 hours to get him back to bed. Then Jemma was up at 6:30. Jim had to get up and go into work, so Jemma went with Daddy to play in the bathroom (she loves getting out my purses and shoes and she has a tea set in the bathroom). Then he took her downstairs and gave her breakfast. I was able to stay in bed until 7:15! James slept until 8:45. When he woke, he had a normal temperature... a perfect 98.6. We went out for a stroll and played until naptime, but he was still not his normal happy self. I noticed that he was warm again, so I gave him a dose of Tylenol and made an appointment with the dr.
We arrived at the dr's office at 2:30... we were early for our 2:45 appointment. As we sat in the waiting room, James just put his head on my chest and hummed. He had no interested in getting down and he wasn't pointing at all the things in the waiting room, so I knew he wasn't feeling well. He kept getting warmer and warmer... when the nurse took us back, he had a temp of 103.5! I had forgotten my Tylenol at home, so they gave him some as soon as they took his temperature. Dr. Springer was so wonderful. She checked both kids and both have clear lungs and ears. James does have a sinus infection and does need antibiotics. He is such a good boy... even with a fever and sinus infection, he still gave Dr. Springer smiles! Thankfully, James likes medicine. He sucked down the antibiotics and wanted more. He gets this huge smile on his face when he sees the Tylenol bottle and wants more.
Jim arrived home from work at 5:40pm, so we had dinner as a family. Jemma slept all night last night! James slept restlessly. I woke at 4 am not feeling great. Knowing that my husband needed sleep, I went to the couch until he left for work at 6:45. I went back to bed when he left only to be greeted 60 seconds later with a very awake Jemma asking, "Where is my Daddy?" And my day begins...

I hope you are able to 'catch up' so you don't get sick yourself. Good luck and hang in there. We're still waiting for our little guy to arrive, Troy is hoping for a St. Patrick's day baby. ;-)
Aw. Poor you guys. This has been such a tough winter with kids and their illnesses. Ugh.
