Great day!

Today was a great day. First, James woke happy. I nursed James and was feeding him breakfast when Jemma came bounding down the stairs grinning and happy. How wonderful it is for happy kids!! Jemma easily got off to school this morning. I sucessfully unclogged the toilet. (Who knew that a 3 year old could poop so much that a toilet could get clogged?!? And I was there... there was virtually no paper used!) James and I went for a long walk and chatted with one of our neighbors. James took a good nap and I took a long, hot shower. We had fun playing and eating lunch, then we went to get Jemma from school.

We went to the library and I got books. (Jim had the Left Behind series, books 1-8, that he read years ago. He was going to donate them, but I started reading the first book and have found them quite addicting. I checked out the next 4 and can't wait to start on book 9 tonight.) We had planned to stop by Atlantic Garden Center to visit with our friend, Sarah. (Ok, so I want to get a few herbs and flowers to plant too, but it is always nice to visit and purchase!) But her car was not there, so we kept driving. I called her only to discover that she was at work, but on a rental car. She has bought a new Honda Odyssey and it wasn't ready so she had a rental. We'll just have to catch up with her later...

We played (the living room is an utter mess!) inside because it was raining. Then James took a nap while Jemma went to "rest". I managed to clean the kitchen floor, which gets insanely dirty every meal. After James' nap and Jemma's "rest" (there really was no rest, merely playing quietly in her room), I invited Trina and Derek to visit and they came. Derek and Jemma played upstairs. Trina and I were able to talk and catch up while James happily played downstairs. They stayed and had dinner with us (sweet potatoes from Papa's garden and an Oven Stuffer Roaster that I had put in the oven this afternoon). It was so, so nice to have the company! Then James took a bath and nursed and went to bed while Jemma watched the Wiggles. Then Jemma took a quick bath and got ready for bed. It took us a while to clean her room. She and Derek had pulled out almost every toy and book. Now they are both sleeping and I'm heading to read and sleep.

The best part of this day was the 9 minute phone call from my wonderful husband!!! I was so happy to hear his voice! :) He called at the perfect time. Trina had just left and I was on my way to put James in the tub.

What a great day!!!

Here is Jemma yesterday in her uniform doing "ballet." I just love the fun tights!

Cheerleading:

Does this look like James might be pondering how to get into trouble?!?

I had hidden the wand, but James found it:
