Friends

We love visitors... we love visitors!!! :) I especially love the type of visitor that doesn't mind a comfortable (messy) and relaxed (somewhat chaotic) house where it is expected that you just make yourself at home... and I did love that Rob has that authoritative male voice that the kids responded quickly to!

Leeann and Rob and Rachel drove from NJ on Saturday. Plus, Bonnie drove from South Boston to visit with all of us, too! We had such a lovely, lovely visit.

On Sunday morning, I made pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast, to give me a little break and prepare for the day, Leeann and Bonnie took the kids to the park. They both can now vouch for how fast James is... it was about 1 minute after Leeann went outside that I heard her say, "I lost James! He was here and now he is not." He had run across the street and was in the neighbor's garage! Upon Bonnie's return, she commented that we needed one of those little backpacks with the leash... we have one and I do use it! It is a Monkey that I bought for Jemma because she went through a phase of running from me in stores. We went to the Farmers Market Sunday morning on a quest for a good pumpkin to make pumpkin cheesecake. We also planned to get ice cream from Yoder Dairies (they have such yummy ice cream); however, they are not open on Sunday. So, we each got a fresh and delicious apple. Then, we went to the beach. It was a windy day so we did not stay long. Rob and Leeann made pumpkin cheesecake (wonderful!) and pumpkin bread (oh, so yummy!) while I made mac-n-cheese and chickpea and spinach casserole for dinner. We had such fun just letting the kids play while we chatted. Rachel loved dressing up, especially wearing the pink tutu!
I was sad to see them leave Monday morning. I hope we can get together again very soon!
